WELOME TO NiceMatters

WE ARE PROUD TO BE A

CFA REGISTERED CATTERY!

WATCH IN THE FALL FOR OUR FIRST LITTER.
WE ARE ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THESE LITTLE ONES.

I’LL BE CALLING EVERYONE WHO’S HELPED ME OUT!!

When I purchased my first Persian,
I had many questions about introducing her to my home and my children.
BELIEVE ME I HAD LOTS OF QUESTIONS!!
I would like to share 6 “personal insights”
that I have learned from experienced breeders and friends.

PERSONAL INSIGHT #1:
WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL ITEMS THAT I WILL NEED TO HAVE
OR FIND FOR MY KITTEN?

Nail clippers

A food dish and water dish

Proper brushes and combs

Cat toys and a Scratching Post

Cat Box and Litter

Shampoo

Clean Fresh Water

Cat Food

  A MENTOR

A LICENSED VETERINARIAN

PERSONAL INSIGHT #2:
WHY DOES MY CAT HIDE AND WILL SHE EVER COME OUT?

My first Persian, Panda,
found some great hiding places that I didn’t know even existed in my home!!
I have come to find out that this in NORMAL.
It’s important to leave your cat alone and let her explore on her own.
DON’T FORCE HER TO COME OUT FROM HIDING.
She will eventually come out and you will be able to enjoy every bit of her!

PERSONAL INSIGHT #3:
HOW SHOULD I INTRODUCE MY KITTEN TO MY CHILDREN?
(I’m talking about a kitten who is 12 weeks or older)

It’s best not to force a kitten to sit or be held by a child.
I have taught my children to sit on the floor and play with my kittens using a toy.
They SHOULDN’T carry a kitten or run after a kitten either.
My kittens DO LOVE my children and have and do give lots of love to each other!!!

PERSONAL INSIGHT #4:
HOW CAN I GET MY KITTEN TO USE ITS SCRATCHING POST?

I have GENTLY placed my kittens paws on the scratching post
and have stroked her paws on the post in a downward motion.
I do this several times a day for the first week.
This will leave oil on the post from the paws of the kitten.
You can also use some catnip spray and spray in on the post to attract the kitten.
Believe me, they will go back and scratch.

PERSONAL INSIGHT #5:
MY KITTEN SEEMS SO NERVOUS AND SCARED?
WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP CALM HER NERVES AND EASE HER STRESS?

I personally would like to recommend a product called
RESCUE REMEDY by BACH.
It is an all natural product that can be found in most Health Stores.
As stated from their pamphlet, “Pets Have Emotions Too”,
Rescue Remedy can be used for an immediate calming effect in any stressful situation”.

Bach Flower Remedies for Animals by Stefan Ball and Judy Howard.

PERSONAL INSIGHT #6:
I HAVE SO MUCH TO LEARN!
WHERE CAN I START READING INFORMATION TO HELP ME AS AN OWNER OR A BREEDER?

I have found that
www.pandecats.com
or www.showcatsonline.com
or www.cfa.org
have some great articles about everything that you have ever wanted to know
regarding having or raising a Persian!!!
They also have some great articles about PKD that all owners of Persians should read.
